Vision: 

The Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs is that every Baltimorean will live in a clean, safe and vibrant neighborhood. 

Mission: 

The Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs serves as a conduit between residents and Mayor Brandon M. Scott, centering community voices in the creation and implementation of policy to build stronger neighborhoods and improve the quality of life in Baltimore City. 

Core Functions/Scope of Work: 

Engagement: The Mayor’s Office of Community Affairsworks with communities and other city agencies to develop neighborhood projects, such as community cleanups, that enrich the area. The team organizes events and opportunities for Mayor Scott to engage directly with Baltimoreans. They are responsible for staffing Mayor Scott when he is out in community. 

Outreach: The Mayor’s Office of Community Affairsrepresents Mayor Scott at community events across the city. The team attends community, neighborhood and business association meetings to share updates from the Mayor and hear directly from Baltimoreans about the issues that impact them.  

Coordination: The Mayor’s Office of Community Affairscoordinates community engagement across city agencies, eliminating duplication and improving efficiency. 

Policy: The Mayor’s Office of Community Affairsworks to ensure the equitable and efficient delivery of city policy. The team is on the ground holding the government accountable for the operationalization of policy. They also center the voices of community in the creation of policy at the executive level. 

Constituent Services: In partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Correspondence and Constituent Services, the Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs works with residents and city agencies to resolve concerns and issues in the community.
